Jane Campion’s The Power Of The Dog leads the nominations for the 94th Academy Awards, closely followed by Denis Villeneuve’s Dune.
The Power Of The Dog secured 12 nods including best picture, directing and cinematography as well as four acting nominations for lead actor Benedict Cumberbatch, supporting actors Jesse Plemons and Kodi Smith-McPhee, and actress Kirsten Dunst.
Sci-fi blockbuster Dune received 10 nominations including best picture and across the technical categories for sound, visual effects, cinematography and costume design among others.
The nominations were announced by Leslie Jordan and Tracee Ellis Ross today.
The 2022 Oscars will take place on March 27 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. ABC confirmed that the ceremony would have a host for the first time in three years. Girls Trip’s Will Packer will be the show’s producer, with Glenn Weiss set to direct for the seventh consecutive year.
