The full title of Amazon Prime Video’s The Lord of The Rings series will be The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, with the series set to launch on September 2, 2022.

Amazon confirmed the details with a live-action ‘title announcement’ video, in which the title is forged from molten metal in a blacksmith foundry. The video can be seen below.

The series will debut on the Prime Video streaming platform in more than 240 countries, with new episodes on a weekly basis.

The Rings of Power is the title for the multi-season drama. Season one shot in New Zealand, with season two moving to the UK in a boon for the local industry.

Payne & Patrick McKay. “Until now, audiences have only seen on-screen the story of the One Ring – but before there was one, there were many… and we’re excited to share the epic story of them all.”

The cast for the series includes 2016 Screen Star of Tomorrow Morfydd Clark, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Maxim Baldry, Nazanin Boniadi, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Charles Edwards, Trystan Gravelle, Lenny Henry, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Lloyd Owen, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers, Leon Wadham, Benjamin Walker, Daniel Weyman, and Sara Zwangobani.
